Sender Addresses

Create and manage the "from" addresses your recipients see when they receive your emails.

A sender address is the email address that appears in the "From" field when someone receives your email. For example, "Taifa Mail Support" <support@govconnect.ke>.

Requirements

  • You must have a verified domain before you can create a sender address on that domain. Adding a sender on an unverified domain is rejected.
  • The sender address must be on one of your verified domains. For example, you can only create hello@yourdomain.com if yourdomain.com is verified on your account.
  • Each sender address must be unique. The same address cannot be added twice.

Create a sender address

  1. Go to Domains in the sidebar.
  2. Select the Senders tab.
  3. Click Add Sender.
  4. Fill in the details:
    • Email address -- the local part (e.g. hello) and select your verified domain.
    • Display name -- the name recipients see (e.g. "Taifa Mail Support").
  5. Click Save.

Your new sender address is ready to use in campaigns and transactional emails immediately.

Display name

The display name appears alongside the email address in your recipient's inbox:

Taifa Mail Support <support@govconnect.ke>

Choose a display name that your recipients will recognise and trust. Common patterns:

  • Company name: GovConnect Kenya
  • Department: Taifa Mail Support
  • Person at company: Steve from Taifa Mail

Limits per plan

The number of sender addresses you can create depends on your plan:

Use different sender addresses for different purposes. For example, use hello@ for marketing campaigns and receipts@ for transactional emails. This helps recipients identify your emails and improves engagement.

Removing a sender address

Removing a sender address from the Senders tab deactivates it. It no longer appears in your sender list and can no longer be used to send. The address is freed up and a new sender can be created for it later.
